Employee Productivity Training

What’s Driving the Recent Surge in Employee Productivity Training?

Employee Productivity Training

Employees rely on tools like PowerPoint, Word, and Excel every day to present ideas, run meetings, and keep work moving. These tools quietly power how businesses operate. But just because they’re widely used doesn’t mean they’re being used well.

At Breach Secure Now, we’ve seen a noticeable increase in demand for both Microsoft 365 training and cybersecurity awareness training across our MSP partner network. To better understand what’s behind this shift, we asked our LinkedIn audience a simple question:

What’s driving the increased focus on employee productivity training right now?

Here’s what they told us:

  • Inconsistent processes (48%)
  • Having to do more with less (38%)
  • Too many new tools like AI (14%)

At first glance, these results might seem straightforward. But they reveal something deeper about the modern workplace and where organizations are struggling most.

The Real Problem Isn’t Tools, It’s How They’re Used

Nearly half of respondents pointed to inconsistent processes as the biggest driver.

This aligns closely with what we’re seeing at Breach Secure Now through our cybersecurity managed services and employee compliance training programs.

Most organizations already have the tools they need. Microsoft 365 alone is packed with capabilities designed to streamline collaboration, automate workflows, and improve efficiency. But without proper training, employees often develop their own workflows. That leads to inconsistency, inefficiency, and increased risk.

  • Files are stored in different places
  • Processes vary from person to person
  • Time is lost recreating work or searching for information

The result is reduced employee productivity and, more importantly, increased exposure to security gaps that can lead to data loss or compliance issues.

This is where cybersecurity awareness training and compliance training for employees play a critical role. Standardized processes are not just about efficiency. They are essential for data breach prevention and maintaining cybersecurity compliance.

Doing More With Less Is the New Normal

Coming in second, 38% said “having to do more with less” is driving the push for productivity training. This is something we hear every day from MSPs and clients working with Breach Secure Now. Teams are being asked to maintain or increase output without additional resources.

In response, organizations are investing in:

  • Microsoft Office training to improve day-to-day efficiency
  • Employee Cybersecurity training to reduce human risk
  • Compliance Training solutions to streamline regulatory requirements

Improving how employees use tools is one of the fastest ways to increase output without increasing headcount. For MSPs, this creates an opportunity to deliver more value through a comprehensive MSP cyber security and productivity-focused MSP solution.

AI Isn’t the Biggest Challenge Yet

Only 14% of respondents pointed to “too many new tools like AI.” Given the rapid growth of artificial intelligence in the workplace, this might seem surprising, but it reflects what we are seeing across organizations adopting AI in the workplace.

Before companies can fully realize the benefits of AI in the workplace, they need to address foundational gaps:

  • Lack of standardized workflows
  • Low user proficiency in core tools
  • Limited AI readiness

Without that foundation, the introduction of AI often leads to new risks like shadow AI, where employees use unauthorized tools without oversight. This creates serious concerns for cybersecurity compliance and data breach prevention. That is why many organizations are beginning to explore AI readiness assessments and generative AI training as part of a broader strategy focused on human AI collaboration.

What This Means for Organizations

The takeaway from this poll is clear: Productivity challenges are not primarily about technology. They are about consistency, capability, and risk management.

Organizations that want to improve productivity and security should focus on:

  • Standardizing processes across teams
  • Delivering consistent employee cybersecurity training
  • Conducting regular cybersecurity risk assessments
  • Implementing structured compliance training for employees
  • Evaluating readiness through a cybersecurity assessment or AI readiness assessment

For regulated industries, this becomes even more critical. Healthcare organizations, for example, must align productivity with healthcare compliance requirements using tools like a HIPAA compliance checklist and HIPAA training for employees.

Where Training Makes the Difference

Training is no longer optional. It is a core part of both productivity and security strategy. At Breach Secure Now, we provide a unified cyber security training platform that combines cybersecurity awareness training, Microsoft 365 training, and compliance training solutions. This approach helps MSPs deliver a complete MSP security offering while improving both employee performance and organizational resilience. When done right, training helps organizations:

  • Improve employee productivity
  • Reduce human error and strengthen data breach prevention
  • Meet evolving cybersecurity compliance requirements
  • Maximize ROI from existing technology investments

Final Thought

The push for productivity training is not being driven by new tools. It is being driven by a more fundamental challenge: Organizations need their people to work smarter, more consistently, and more securely with what they already have.

At Breach Secure Now, we see this every day across our MSP partner ecosystem. The organizations that invest in training, standardization, and readiness, whether through cybersecurity 101 fundamentals or advanced AI readiness strategies, are the ones that will move faster, reduce risk, and stay ahead.
