Cybersecurity: An Opportunity to Be the Hero

Missed Opportunities

Missed opportunities.  They come in many forms, shapes, and sizes.  It might be personal, professional, or just for the fun of a moment.

We all have them, and it likely still pains us to think about being wrong on any opportunity in life, especially those that would provide you with a way to advance your business or career.

Don’t miss the one presenting itself right now in the business world: cybersecurity. It’s not going anywhere, and it’s growing exponentially by the day.  With the sophistication of cybercriminals advancing at a threatening rate to small and medium-sized businesses, you would be foolish to assume you aren’t a part of the solution.

It’s Up to You

Every MSP has a responsibility to their clients to provide them with the tools that keep their data safe.  Unfortunately, many clients are unfamiliar with proper cybersecurity habits. After all, they know how to run their business, not fight cybercrime. Be a part of that solution by offering them a service that addresses those requirements and allows them to continue to focus on their business.

The large breaches that many of us have been a part of, or witnessed on the news…Facebook, Target, Marriott…they are creating awareness and increasing the need for technology vendors and service providers that can address the issue.  You need to be proactive in not only keeping your clients informed but also keeping them trained and educated on how to avoid the breaches that threaten their business nearly every day.   Making cybersecurity a non-negotiable part of your offering not only emphasizes the need for it but also provides you with clients who are willing to do what it takes to ensure they have a solid tech foundation to grow their business. A win for both of you.

Emerge Victoriously

Your business will grow not only because of the opportunity presenting itself to protect your clients through cybersecurity but because you are establishing safe and secure clients who do not run the risk of closing due to poor cyber hygiene – like the many that do after a breach.  The opportunity for you as an MSP is to become the threat to the cybercriminals, not the victim to their activity.  Don’t sit on the sidelines as others rise to meet the needs that these hackers are creating for you – turn the tables on them and be the victor, not the victim.
